The Hindi department is one of the oldest departments of this college being established in 1967. The department is engaged in teaching Hindi language courses for different honours and program courses. Various workshops, talks, competitions and seminars are organised every year to provide multi-dimensional inputs to students. Growing recognition given by foreign nationals to Hindi language and India‘s growing economy, provides students with opportunities for career advancement.

Last year, the department had organised an inter-class Poetry competition at college. A talk on “Hindi Rangmanch ka Vartamaan Paridrishya” by Dr. Pratap Sehgal was also organised. In addition, visits to various places like Book Fairs, National school of Drama and different Historical monuments were also organised throughout the year. Recently, a seminar was organised on ‘Hindi Theatre’ at college by Hindi department in April, 2015.

Attendance Rules

The students are required to attend not less than 67% of the lectures, theory and practicum courses, separately during each semester in order to enable them to appear for university examinations.

Assessment Scheme

The assessing procedures usually include written assignments, projects, house exam and presentations. Final examinations are held in the month of November and May.
