  • Urdu language papers in B.A. (Prog) courses.

The Urdu department was started at college in 1967. The department is engaged in teaching urdu language courses for B.A. program courses. Urdu students study courses in History, Political Science, English and Hindi at the Programme level.

Despite Urdu not being a very popular subject the Department has managed to hold on its own for many years. Students having command in Urdu language can explore opportunities like script writing for films. There are opportunities to work in the media as well.

Attendance Rules

The students are required to attend not less than 67% of the lectures, theory and practicum courses, separately during each semester in order to enable them to appear for university examinations.

Assessment Scheme

The assessing procedures usually include written assignments, projects, house exam and presentations. Final examinations are held in the month of November and May.
